Open Form is focused upon design research in all of our projects, especially in the areas of non-standard architecture and parametric design modeling. Over the years Open Form has focused on integrating new technologies into the design and construction processes. We have been involved with workshops at Wolfram Science using Mathematica software in order to explore the integration of cellular automata and generative algorithms in design. In 2008 the office was awarded the prestigious Type B Research and Creation Grant from the Conseil des arts et lettres du Québec to work on architectural prototyping.
